tHE FOUR WIVEs [a motivational story]

Before reading:
This story should be read with full attention, It's message is personally for every individual, irrespective of status, nationality or achievements...

There was once a rich merchant who
married four wives. He loved the fourth
wife the most and adorned her
with rich, good and costly clothes and other materials, and treated her
to delicacies. He greatly took special care
of her
, gave her
the best and almost anything she demanded for.
Also, the rich merchant loved the third wife very
much. He was always very proud of her
and always wanted to show her off
to his friends. However, the rich
merchant is always in fear
that one day she might run away with
some other men.

He loved his second wife too. She
is always very considerate in everything she does,
always patient and in fact, she is the
merchant's confidence.
Whenever the merchant encountered
serious problems, he always
turned to his second wife and she
would always help him out with her wise and brilliant ideas and
tide him through every of his difficult times.
The first wife is
a very loyal woman, she has
made very great contributions in
maintaining her husband's wealth and
business. Aside all of that, she always take good and proper care
of the household. However, the
merchant did not love the first
wife in any way and although she loved
him deeply, he hardly took
any notice of her.
One fateful day, the merchant fell terribly ill and soon, he knew that he
was going to die.
He
thought of his luxurious and "fulfiled" life and
told himself, " I have four wives with me. But when I die,
I'll be all alone. How lonely I'll be!"
So, he asked the fourth wife, "I
loved you most, adorned you
with the best clothing and
showed great care towards you.
Now that I'm dying, will you
follow me so that you can keep me
company?" "No way!" replied
the fourth wife and she walked
away without another word.
The answer cut
into the merchant's heart like a sharp knife would do.
The sad merchant then called on the third wife and said,
"I have showed you so much love
all my life. Now
that I'm dying, will you follow
me and keep me from being lonely?"
"No!" replied the third wife. "Life
is so cool over here! In fact, I'm going
to remarry when you die!" The
rich merchant's heart sank deep and
turned cold.
He then asked the second wife, "I
always turned to you for help
and you've always been there for me
. Now I need your help again.
When I die, will you follow me
and keep me from being lonely?" "I'm
sorry, I can't help you out this
time!" was the reply she gave.
"At
most, I can only send
you to the grave." This answer
came like a bolt of thunder accompanied by lightening and
the merchant was down and devastated.
While the merchant was still thinking, a voice called out : "I'll
leave with you. I'll follow you wherever
you go." The
merchant looked up and it
was his first wife. She was so
skinny, as if she suffered
from malnutrition. Greatly
grieved and with a trembling voice tone, the merchant said, "I
wish I had taken
care of you while I could have !"

Actually, each of the four wives represent a part of our life

1. The fourth wife is our body. No
matter how much time and
effort we lavish in making it
look good, it'll leave us when we
die.
2. The third wife. Which represents Our
possessions, status and wealth.
When we die, they all won't go with us. In fact, others take them
.
3. The second wife represents our family and
friends. No matter how close
they had been with us when
we're alive, the furthest they
can stay by us is up to the grave.
4. The first wife is in fact our
soul, which often neglected in our
pursuit of material, wealth and
sensual pleasure.
You know what? It is actually the
only thing that follows us
wherever we go. Perhaps it's a
good idea to cultivate and
strengthen it now rather than to
wait until we're on our
deathbed to lament.

tHE BIRTHDAY PACKAGe [a moral and inspirational story]

This story you're about to read has an important lesson for you to learn. So, read it carefully...

A young married woman whose husband was a wealthy man was expecting a
birthday gift from her husband.
For quite a number of months she had
admired a very beautiful diamond
ring in a showroom, and
she knowing that her husband could
afford it, if he would, told him that was
all she wanted for her birthday, and nothing more.
As her birthday was drawing nigh, this
lady awaited signs that her
husband had
bought the diamond ring.
At last, her birthday finally came. On the morning of her
birthday, her husband called her
into his
room.
He told her how proud
he was to have such a good wife as her and told
her
how much he loved her.
After telling her all sort of sweet talks, he finally handed her a beautifully
wrapped gift box.
Very excited and curious, the wife opened the box
and found a lovely, leather-
bound Bible,
with the her name embossed
in gold.
Angrily, she raised her voice to
her husband and said, 'With all
your money
, a Bible was all you could give me?!!' And
stormed out of the house,
leaving her husband.
Many years passed and the lady
was very successful in all her dealings and business.
She managed
to settle for a more beautiful
house and a new wonderful family,
but realized
her ex-husband was very old,
and thought perhaps she should
sayhim a visit because
she had not seen him for so many
years.
But before she could make travelling
arrangements, she received a
text message telling her
that her ex-husband had died
, and willed all of his
possessions to
her. She needed to come back
immediately and take care of
things.
When she arrived at her ex-
husband's house, sudden
sadness and regret filled
her heart. She began to search
through her ex-husband's
important papers and
saw the Bible, still as new as when it was presented to her.
she had left it years before.
With tears, she opened the Bible
and began to turn the pages. Her
ex-husband
had carefully underlined a verse,
Matt 7:11, which reads 'And if you, being evil,
know
how to give good gifts to your
children, how much more shall
your Heavenly
Father, who is in heaven, give
what is good to those who ask
Him?'
As she read those words, a tiny
package dropped from the back
of the Bible.
It had a diamond ring, with her
name engraved on it-the same
diamond ring
which she saw at the showroom!
On the tag, the date of her
birth, and the words.'LUV U
ALWAYS' were inscribed.

How many times do we miss
God's blessings, because they are
not packaged as
we expected?
Do not spoil what you have, by
desiring what you have not; but
remember that
what you now have was once
among the things you only
hoped for.

Moral of the story: Always appreciate little things, irrespective of how small they seem.

dON'T LIE TO YOUR MOTHEr [a moral story for children]

This moral story is basically for children

One evening James invited his mother to his apartment for dinner. While they were enjoying the meal, James' mother couldn't help noticing how extremely beautiful his roommate was. She had long been suspicious of a relationship between James and this his roommate, and this only made her more curious. Later, after finishing their meal that evening, while she was watching the two of them interact, she started to wonder if there was more between John and the roommate than what she was seeing. James being very sensitive, read his mom's thoughts, James volunteered, "I know what you must be thinking, but I assure you that, Julie and I are just roommates and our relationship doesn't go beyond that."
About a week later, Julie came to James and said, "Ever since your mother came here for dinner, I've been unable to find the beautiful silver gravy ladle. You don't suppose she took it, do you?" James said, "Well, I doubt it, but still I'll write her a letter just to be sure if she took it or not ." So he sat down and wrote "Dear Mother, I'm not saying you took a gravy ladle from my house, and I'm not saying you didn't take a gravy ladle. But the fact remains that one has been missing ever since you came here for dinner." After a couple of days later, James received a letter from his mother which read: "Dear Son, I'm not saying that you do sleep with Julie, and I'm not saying that you do not sleep with Julie. But the fact remains that if she was sleeping in her own bed, she would have found the gravy ladle by now.
From your dear mother.

tHE NON-CONFORMIST BIRd [a moral tale]

There once was a nonconformist bird that always like doing his own things segregated from the others. The bird decided not to fly with the other birds to the south for the winter. He said "I've had enough of this flying south every winter; I'll just stay right here on this farm, what's the big deal, anyway? Nothing bad can happen to me, I'm old enough to take care of myself and decide things on my own" So he stayed. When Winter came, it was very cold; the nonconformist bird had never felt such cold weather in his life before and was very afraid that he might freeze to death. Now realising that he had made a very big mistake by staying, he headed to a nearby barn for shelter. On his way to the barn it began to snow. It snowed for a very long time. The poor bird was too cold, so tired and very hungry.
"Why did I stay?" The nonconformist bird asked and blamed himself as he collapsed on the ground. As he lay there covered by the snow, a cow happened to come by. The cow, feeling the need to relieve himself, crapped right on the bird. At first being angry the bird said, "Who is the idiot that did this horrible thing to me, how dare someone crap on me, I get to punish him for this!" The crap was too heavy for him to free himself. But, after a while the crap began to warm him and he forgot all about his anger. In fact he was so warm that he began to sing. A buzzard who was passing overheard the singing and went down to investigate. As he cleared away the crap to his delight he found the bird. The bird was so happy to be free from the crap that he thanked the buzzard, who then decided to eat the little bird.

The moral of this story: this story teachers that: Just because a person hurts you doesn't make him your enemy and just because a person helps you doesn't make the person your friend. You just have to be careful in everything.

The mouse trap [a moral tale]

A mouse looked through the crack in the wall to see the farmer and his wife open a package. “What food might this contain?” the mouse wondered. He was devastated to discover it was a mousetrap. Retreating to the farmyard, the mouse proclaimed the warning: “There is a mousetrap in the house! There is a mousetrap in the house!” The chicken clucked and scratched, raised her head and said “Mr. Mouse, I can tell this is a grave concern to you, but it is of no consequence to me. I cannot be bothered by it.” The mouse turned to the pig and told him “There is a mousetrap in the house! There is a mousetrap in the house!” The pig sympathized, but said “I am so very sorry, Mr. Mouse, but there is nothing I can do about it but pray. Be assured you are in my prayers.” The mouse turned to the cow and said “There is a mousetrap in the house! There is a mousetrap in the house!” The cow said “Wow, Mr. Mouse. I’m sorry for you, but it’s no skin off my nose.” So, the mouse returned to the house, head down and dejected, to face the farmer’s mousetrap alone. That very night a sound was heard throughout the house – like the sound of a mousetrap catching its prey. The farmer’s wife rushed to see what was caught. In the darkness, she did not see it was a venomous snake whose tail the trap had caught. The snake bit the farmer’s wife. The farmer rushed her to the hospital and she returned home with a fever. Everyone knows you treat a fever with fresh chicken soup, so the farmer took his hatchet to the farmyard for the soup’s main ingredient. But his wife’s sickness continued, so friends and neighbors came to sit with her around the clock. To feed them, the farmer butchered the pig. The farmer’s wife did not get well; she died. So many! people came for her funeral, the farmer had the cow slaughtered to provide enough meat for all of them. The mouse looked upon it all from his crack in the wall with great sadness. So, the next time you hear someone is facing a problem and think it doesn’t concern you, remember: when one of us is threatened, we are all at risk. We are all involved in this journey called life. We must keep an eye out for one another and make an extra effort to encourage one another. Each of us is a vital thread in another person’s tapestry.

THE NEW EMPEROR [a moral story]

The emperor of an empire in the Far North was growing old. Knowing he will soon die, he decided that it was time to choose his successor.. Instead of choosing one of his assistants or his children, he decided something different. This is because all of his children were wayward. He wanted a good and responsible successor. So, one day, he called the young people in the kingdom together. He said, "It is high time for me to step down from the throne and choose the next emperor. I have decided to choose one of you." The people were shocked! (knowing the emperor has sons who could be selected) But the emperor continued. "I am going to give each and every one of you a seed today. One very special seed of its own kind, though common in this empire. I want you to plant the seed, water and nurture it and come back here after one year from today with what you have grown from this one seed. I will then judge the plants that you bring, and the person whose plant I choose will be the next emperor!"
Everyone present was given a seed including a boy whose name was George. George went home hurriely and excitedly told his mother the story. She immediately helped him get a pot and very fertile planting soil, and he planted the seed carefully and watered it on interval basis. Every day he kept watering it and watching to see if it had grown. After about three weeks, some of the other youths began to talk about their seeds and the plants that were beginning to grow. George kept checking and watering his seed, but it didn't grow. Three weeks, four weeks, five weeks went by, Still nothing to show forth. By now, the others were talking about their plants but George didn't have a plant, and he felt like he was a failure. Six months went by, still nothing grew in George's pot. He just knew he had killed his seed. Everyone else had trees and tall plants, but he had nothing. George didn't tell his friends anything about his seed, however. He just kept waiting for his seed to grow. One year finally went by and all the youths of the kingdom brought their plants to the emperor for inspection. George told his mother that he was not going to take an empty pot to the emperor. George's mother told him that he had to go. But being honest about what happened, George felt sick inside of him, but he knew his mother was right. He finally decided to go and so he took his empty pot to the palace. When George got there, he was amazed at the variety of plants grown by the other youths. They were so beautiful in all shapes and sizes. George, almost feeling like crying, put his empty pot on the floor and many of the people present laughed at him. Few of them felt sorry for him and just said, "At least you still tried your best" When the emperor arrived, he surveyed the large palace room and greeted the young people. George just tried as much as he could to hide at the back. "What great plants, trees and flowers you have grown," said the emperor. "Today, one of you will be appointed the next emperor!" All those with tall plants were beinging to feel curious and happy. All of a sudden, the emperor spotted George at the back of the room with his empty pot. He immediately ordered the palace guards to bring him to the front. George was so frightened and terrified. "The emperor knows I'm a failure! Maybe he will have me killed!" George said within himself. When George got to the front, the Emperor asked his name. "My name is George," he said. All the people were laughing and making fun of him. Then the emperor ordered everyone be quiet. He looked at George, and then announced to the crowd, "Behold your new emperor! His name is George!" George couldn't believe it. He couldn't even grow his seed. How could he possibly be the new emperor? Then the emperor said, "One year ago, I gave everyone here a seed each. I told you to take the seed, plant it, water it, and bring it back to me today. But I gave you all boiled seeds, which would not grow. All of you, except George, have brought me trees and plants and flowers. When you found that the seed would not grow, you substituted another seed for the one I gave you. George was the only one with the courage and honesty to bring me a pot with my seed in it. Therefore, he is the one who will be the new emperor!"

What an amazing story!
Moral of the story: The story teaches honesty! Honesty is the best policy. You have to be honest in all you do, even when it seems so difficult. You might not know who is studying you, and surely, your honesty will yield you good and positive results.

THE MISSING RIB [a moral and motivational story]

A very young lady who was in love asked her fiancee.
Girl: Tell me. Who, in this world do you love most?
Boy: You're the one I love, of course!
Girl: Deep down In your heart, what do you think I am to you?
Boy: The boy thought deeply for almost a minute and looked straight into the girl's eyes and said, "You are my missing rib. It was recorded that God saw that Adam was alone, during one of his sleeps, God took one of Adam's rib and from it, created Eve and ever since, every man has been searching for his missing rib, it's only when you find the woman of your life, you'll no longer feel the lingering ache in your heart and I'm grateful to God because I've found you."

A few months later, they got wedded. After their wedding, the couple had a sweet and happy married life for a while. But unfortunalfly, on the long run, the youthful couple began to drift apart due to the busy schedules of life and the never-ending worries of daily problems, their life became mundane. As all these challenges posed by the harsh realities of life began to fade away their dreams and love for each other. Soon, the couple began to have more and more quarrels and each quarrel became more and more heated. One day, after one of their quarrels, the girl ran out of the house. At the other side of the road, she shouted, "You don't love me!"The boy grew very angry and hated her childish behaviour and out of annoyance, replied, "Maybe, it was even a mistake for us to have been together! You were never my missing rib!"Suddenly, she became quiet and stood there for a while. He regretted what he said greatly but for the nature of words, which when spoken are like thrown away water, you can never take it back. With tears, she went inside to pack her belongings and was determined to break-up. But before she left the house, she said, "If I'm really not your missing rib, please let me go." She continued, "It is less painful this way. Let's go on our separate ways and search for our own rightful partners.
"Six years passed...
He never remarried but he had tried to find out about her life indirectly. She had left the country and back. She had married a foreigner and divorced. He felt bad that she never waited for him. In the dark and lonely night, he lit up his cigarette and felt the lingering ache in his heart. He couldn't bring himself to admit that he was missing her. One day, they finally met. At the airport, a place where there were many reunions and good byes. He was going away on a business trip. She was standing there alone, with just a security door separating them. She smiled gently at him.

Boy: How are you doing?
Girl: Not bad, I'm fine.
How about you? Have you found your missing rib?
Boy: Not yet.
Girl: I'll be flying to New York city in the next flight.
Boy: I'll be back in 2 weeks time. Call me when you're back. You know my phone number. Nothing has changed, it's still the same. With a smile, she nodded, turned around and waved him good bye.

About a week later, he heard of her death. She had deceased in New York city, in an event that shocked the world. At midnight, once again, he lit his cigarette. And like before, he felt the lingering ache in his heart. He finally knew and admitted.... She was the missing rib that he had carelessly broken.

POTATOES SACK [a moral story]

Towards the middle of the term a primary three class teacher decided to let her class play a game. The teacher told each member of the class to bring along a sack containing a few potatoes. Each potato will be labelled with the name of a person that the child hates, so the number of potatoes that a child will put in his/her sack bag will depend on the number of people he/she hates. If a child hates six people, there would be six potatoes in the sack with each potato carrying a label with the name of each person the child hates.
Each child got ready and almost the next day all the children got their sack and potatoes set for the game. So when the day to start the game came, every child brought the potatoes with the name of the people he/she hated. Some had 2 potatoes; some 3 while some up to 5 potatoes and even more. The teacher then told the children to carry with them the potatoes in the sack wherever they go (even to the bathroom or toilet) for one week. As days passed by, the children started complaining terribly due to the bad smell let out by the rotten potatoes. And besides that, those having more potatoes also had to carry heavier bags with higher concentration of bad smell. After one week, the children were relieved because the game had finally ended.

The teacher asked: " I hope you all enjoyed the game. How did you feel while carrying the potatoes with you for one week?"
The children immediately let out their frustrations and started complaining bitterly of the trouble that they went through carrying the heavy and smelly potatoes wherever they went. Then the teacher told them the hidden meaning behind the game they played.
He said: "This is exactly the situation when you carry your hatred for somebody inside your heart. The stench of hatred will contaminate your heart and you will carry it with you wherever you go. If you cannot tolerate the smell of rotten potatoes for just one week, especially those of you who had plenty of potatoes to carry, can you imagine what is it like to have the stench of hatred in your heart for your lifetime?"

Moral of the story: Hatred is one of the human vices story: Throw away any form of hatred for anyone from your heart so that you will not carry sins for a lifetime. Forgiving others is the best attitude to take. "Learn to Forgive and Forget." If you don't, you bear most of the pain, not the person you hate.

THINGS THAT MATTER [a moral story]

A professor in philosophy once stood in front of his class with some materials on the table in front of him, for illustrations. When the class finally began, the professor, without saying a word, picked up a very wide and empty jar and filled it with broken rocks, each roughly about 2 inches in diameter. Until the jar was filled with rock particles . He then asked the students if the jar was full. They all agreed and told the professor it was full. So the professor picked up a box filled with pebbles and poured them into the jar. He shook the jar lightly. This of course made the pebbles to roll into the open areas between the rocks. He then asked the students again if the jar was full. Once again, they all agreed it was full. The professor again, picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar. And surely, the sand filled up every other tiny space in the jar. And once more, he asked his students if the jar was full. The students responded, "Yes."
"Now," said the professor, “I want you to know that this jar represents your life. The rocks represent the important things – your family members, your partner, your health, your children – things that if everything else was lost and only they remained, your life would still be full. The pebbles represent the other things that matter – like your job, your house, your vehicles. The sand is everything else. The small stuff." "If I had put the sand into the jar first," he continued "there would be no room for the pebbles or the rocks. The same goes for your life. If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff, you will never have room/time for the things that are important to you. Always pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness. Play with your children. Take your partner out dancing. There will always be time to go to work, clean the house, give a dinner party and fix the disposal. Take care of the rocks first – the things that really matter. Set your priorities. The rest is just sand.”

LOVE IS ESSENTIAL [a moral story]

One afternoon a married young woman came out of her house and saw three very old men with very long white beards sitting in her front yard. She couldn't recognize them and so she told them, "I'm sorry, I don't think I know any of you, but you look very tired and must be hungry, would you please come in and have something to eat?"
One of the old men asked, "Is the man of the house at home?”
"No", she replied. "He has gone out, but that doesn't matter, I can still get you something to eat."
"We cannot come in", they all replied.
Later in the evening when her husband finally came home, The young woman told him what had happened.
"Go and tell them I am at home now and invite them in!" and so, the woman went out and invited the men in"
"We don't just go into a House together like that," one of them replied.
"Why can't you?" the woman asked. At that point one of the old men explained: "He is Wealth," he said pointing to one of his friends, and also said pointing to another one, "He name is Success, and I am Love." he then added, "Now go inside and discuss with your husband which one of us you want as a guest in your home." The woman quickly went inside the house and told her husband what the old men had said. Her husband was very happy and overjoyed. "wow! How nice!!” he exclaimed.
"If that is the case, why not let us invite Wealth into our family. So that he will come and fill our home with riches!" His wife strongly disagreed. "My dear," she said, "why don't we invite Success?" Their daughter-in-law who was listening from one of the corners of the house quickly interrupted their suggestions: "Wouldn't it be better to invite Love? Our home will then be filled with love!" "Let us heed our daughter-in- law's advice," said the husband to his wife at last. "Ok, go out and invite Love to be our guest." Quickly, the woman went out and asked the three old men, "Which one of you is Love? Please come in and be our guest." On hearing that, Love got up and started walking toward the house. The other two also got up and followed him. Surprised, the young woman asked Wealth and Success: "I only invited Love, since you said only one of you can come in. Why are you too coming in?" The old men replied together: "If you had invited Success or Wealth, the other two of us would have stayed out, but since you invited Love, wherever He goes, we go with him because where there is Love, there is also Wealth and Success!"

YOUR SADDEST AND MOST TROUBLESOME TIMES [a motivational story]

This is a story for everyone irrespective of your nationality and indeed a wonderful one.
One night a young man was having a dream. In the dream, he was walking along the cool sandy grounds of a beach with the Lord. Above in the sky flashed several scenes and phases of his life. For each of the scenes he noticed two sets of footprints on the sand: one which was to his and the other belongs to the Lord. When the last scene had flashed before him, he looked back at the footprints and he noticed just only one set of foot prints. He also noticed that this happened during the lowest and saddest moments and times in his life. This bothered him a lot and so he asked the Lord a question. 'Lord, you said in your word that once I decided to follow you, you would walk all the way with me, but I noticed that during the most stormy and troublesome times of my life there was only one set of footprints. I don't understand why, when I needed you most, you deserted and just left me alone.' The Lord replied, 'My precious child, I love you and would never leave you even for a moment. During your times of trials and suffering, when you see only one set of footprints, those were the times when I carried you in my arms.'

THE LITTLE BOY WITH A LOST ARM[A moral and inspirational story]

This story I'm sharing with you is a story about a small boy, who is about 13 years of age. This small boy decided to learn karate despite the fact that he had lost one of his arms, (precisely, his left arm) in a terrible car accident...
The little boy began taking lessons from his expert karate master. Right from the initial stage the boy was doing well, and so he couldn't understand why, after a period of six months of training the master had taught him (and is still teaching him) only one move. This doesn't seem like a progress to the boy and so one day, he told his master, "Master,Shouldn't I be learning more moves instead of just only one move?" The answer his master gave was: "This is the only move you know, but it is the only move you'll ever ever need to know," . Not quite understanding why, but believing in his teacher, the boy kept on with the training. Several months later, the Master took the boy to his first tournament. Not long after the match began, the boy easily won his first two matches. The third match proved to be a little more difficult, but after some time, his opponent became impatient and charged; and once again, the boy used his one move to win the match. Still wondering and amazed by his success, the boy was now in the final rounds. This time around, his opponent was far bigger, stronger, and even more experienced. For a while, the boy appeared to be over matched. Feeling concerned that the boy might get hurt, the referee declared a time-out. He was about to stop the match when the little boy's master intervened. "No," the master Master insisted, "Just Let him continue." and soon after the match resumed, his opponent made a very critical mistake: he dropped his guard. Instantly, the boy used his one move to pin him. And hence boy won the match and the tournament. He was the champion!

On their way back home, the boy and Master reviewed every move in each of the matches. Then the boy summoned the courage to ask what had really been bothering his mind. “Master," he called "I still can't understand how I won the tournament with just only one move?”His master smiled and said "You won the tournament for two reasons, first, you've almost mastered one of the most difficult throws in all of karate. And second, the only known defense for that one move is for your opponent to grasp your left arm.” The little boy was amazed. His biggest weakness (his lost arm) had become his biggest strength.

Moral of the story: With the right Attitude and faith in God and also believing in yourself, you can make your biggest weakness into your biggest strength!!

The tied elephants [a motivational story]

One day, a young man was passing some elephants, he suddenly stopped, this is because he was confused by the fact that the very huge elephants were being held only by small roses tied to their front legs. No chains, neither was there any of them in a cage. It was quite obvious that all of the elephants could, go off from their bonds but for certain reasons which the young man could not imagine, they did not. He saw the elephant keeper nearby, went to him, greeted him and asked why the animals just stood there without making any attempt to get away. "Well," said the elephant keeper "when the elephants very young and still very small, we use the same size of rope to tie them and, at that tender age, it was enough to hold them. As they grow up, they are conditioned to believe they cannot break away. They believe the rope can still hold them, as it could do when they were small and so, they never made any attempt to break free. The young man was so amazed. These animals could at any time break free from their bonds but for the fact that they believed they couldn't be free, they were stuck right where they were.

Moral lesson: Just Like the elephants, many of us go through life holding unto a particular thought or belief that we cannot do something, simply because we failed at it once before? Failure is part of learning; we should never give up the struggle in life. Continual effort and attempt will set you free from certain conditions holding you back from making success.

Short bits of morals 1

1. When heavy rain falls, it reminds us of life challenges. Never you ask for a lighter rain, all you just need to do is pray for a better umbrella... That is attitude.

2. Whenever flood comes, fishes eat ants but when the flood recedes, ants eat fish. (moral lesson) God gives opportunity to everyone, Time is what matters. Just hold on and wait patiently for your time.

3. Some people always throw stones in your path. Throwing the stones at you don't matter, what matters is what you do with the stones. You can gather the stones and use them to build a Wall or Bridge. (moral) Remember, you are the architect of your life. Every problem has (n+1) solutions, where n is the number of solutions that you have tried and 1 is that you have not tried. That's life for you!

It's not important to hold all the aces in the cards of life. What is important is how well you play with the cards which you hold. Often when we lose all hope, we think this is the end, but remember, its just a bend. Not the end. Have Faith and have a successful life. When you feel sad, to cheer up just go to the mirror and say, `Damn I am really so cute`and you will overcome your sadness. But do not make this a habit because all liars go to hell.

DON'T COPY IF YOU CAN'T PASTE [a moral joke]

One day, a very popular motivational speaker who was addressing his audience said: "The best Years of my life were spent in the arms of a woman who wasn't my wife!"The audience was in total silence and shock. The speaker added: "And that woman was my mother!" the audience responded with Laughter and a round of Applause. A week later, a top manager trained by the motivational speaker tried to crack this very effective joke at home. He was a bit foggy after a drink. He said loudly to his wife who was preparing dinner, "The greatest years of my life were spent in the arms of a woman who was not my wife!" The wife went; "ahhhh!" with shock and rage. Standing there for close to 20 seconds trying to recall the second half of the joke, the manager finally blurted out "...and I can't remember who she was!" By the time the manager regained his consciousness, he was on a hospital bed nursing first degree burns from boiling cooking oil

THE FARMER'S DONKEY [a moral story]

There was a rich farmer who owned many farm animals. One day, one of his donkeys fell into a dry well. The farmer tried to get the animal out for a long time but all his efforts were fruitless. The donkey cried piteously for hours until it got very weak and tired. Finally, the farmer decided it was probably impossible to get it out and also, the animal was old and the well was dry anyway, so it just wasn't worth it to try and retrieve the donkey. So the farmer asked his neighbours to come over and help him cover up the well. They all grabbed shovels and began to shovel dirt and sand into the well. At first, when the donkey realized what was happening he cried horribly. Then, to everyone's amazement, he donkey stopped crying and let out some happy brays. After a few shovel loads, the farmer looked down into the well to see what was happening and was astonished at what he saw - With every shovel of dirt that hit its back, the donkey was shaking it off and taking a step up. As the farmer's neighbours continued to shovel dirt on top of the animal, it continued shaking it off and kept taking a step up. Pretty soon, to everyone's amazement, the donkey stepped up over the edge of the well and trotted off.

Moral lesson: This story teaches that - Life is going to shovel dirt on you. The trick to getting out of the well is to shake it off and take a step up. Don't give up, When wisdom is properly applied, every adversity can be turned into a stepping stone. Whatever happens to you is not that important, what is actually important is how you react to it.
